We
are now rapidly approaching the spring equinox, although
at the time of writing the rain and cold are still
with us days with a major storm almost wiping out
our favourite watering hole in Kalk Bay
We must apologise for the fact that our web
site was partially not working for a while so that
members could not access their entries. It turned
out to be the fault of our server in the USA, although
at first they wouldn't admit it. Something very technical
to do with Perl Script. At any rate it was finally
fixed with the help of Simon McGregor (our back end
developer who is now in the UK). If you were put off
by the frustration, we are sorry and please try again.
On inspecting our wonderful self-catering cottage
last weekend I found (what's new) that maintenance
has to be undertaken. The Cape of Storms has been
keeping up its reputation, as I am sure you are aware,
so I am sure that our members in the Accommodation
category are also having to check for damage and necessary
repairs. |

Build
up to 2010 already starting
One of South Africa's
oldest and most popular wine estates, Boschendal,
is bracing itself for an onslaught of tourists travelling
to South Africa for the FIFA 2010 World Cup which
kicks off on 11 June 2010. Two television crews from
the BBC and Mexico recently visited Boschendal for
documentary programmes being made on South Africa's
2010 preparation, and both teams highlighted the degree
to which the Cape winelands will be in the spotlight
over the period to and during the World Cup.
According
to Elisa Alanis, a journalist from Mexico's Canal
34 Television Mexiquense who recently visited Boschendal
on assignment in preparation for 2010, the South African
wine industry could benefit tremendously from the
World Cup.
Not
only in terms of the hundreds of thousands of tourists
visiting the tournament for the one month of the tournament,
but the international media coverage will give the
South African wine industry exposure it has never
had,” said Alanis.

hundreds of visitors will be interested in Body, Mind,
Spirit activities!

Watch out..... Have any of you got Time Share points? Nadine and I have such points, fully paid for, but in recent years have had difficulty in finding the time to go away. Our needs have changed, so we were rather intrigued to see an ad in the paper offering to buy time share points. It turns out (after three hours of sales pitch) that they want us to pay them R45,000.00 up front and give them the points with a promise that they will pay us R150,000.00 in 51 month's time. They admitted that as many as 60% of people simply forget to claim, in which case they simply keep the money. We realised that it is important for all of us in Body, Mind, Spirit Tourism have to more than ever stay in integrity. These are crucial and testing times, but we are personally convinced that the Mayan Prophecy is on track; that we are rapidly heading for the time of the separation of the sheep from the goats. |
